In 47AD the Roman Empire built a timber bridge across the Thames - and founded our modern-day capital. This history wall will explore the capital's most interesting and significant Roman sites along with the thrilling stories that came out of Rome's 400-year occupation of Britannia, including:
- The newest public section of Rome's most impressive engineering feat - the London Wall
- Boudicca's brutal assault on the city which nearly caused Nero to withdraw troops which left its mark 2000 years on...
- The blood-soaked amphitheatre which lay hidden until the 1980s
- The rediscovery of Londinium's long-lost Roman fort
- Rome's maverick 'pirate king' who took over and ruled Britannia
All walks are c.100 minutes long and largely on the flat.
If you wish to come for LUNCH (cost not included) you must check the box on booking below to avoid disappointment.
